PARENT ASSOCIATION

The Association

PA is a nonprofit association that prides itself of being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education. Membership in PTA is open to anyone who wants to be involved and make a difference for the education, health, and welfare of children and youth.

Mission Statement

PA's mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Our Objective

Our core objective is to support the education of students by fostering a co-operative relationship between parents, teachers, support staff, school administrators, and the surrounding community.

PA Value

1. Collaboration: We will work in partnership with a wide array of individuals and organizations to broaden and enhance our ability to serve and advocate for all children and families.
2. Commitment: We are dedicated to children’s educational success, health, and well-being through strong family and community engagement, while remaining accountable to the principles upon which our association was founded.
3. Diversity: We acknowledge the potential of everyone without regard, including but not limited to: age, culture, economic status, educational background, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, legal status, marital status, mental ability, national origin, organizational position, parental status, physical ability, political philosophy, race, religion, sexual orientation, and work experience.
4. Respect: We value the individual contributions of members, employees, volunteers, and partners as we work collaboratively to achieve our association’s goals.
5. Accountability: All members, employees, volunteers, and partners have a shared responsibility to align their efforts toward the achievement of our association’s strategic initiatives.

Benefits Of PA

1. Power of Volunteers: the PA organizes hard-working, dedicated volunteers. Parents are ready to help implement school programs and plan family events.
2. Communication: the PA works with Twifo Hemang School administrators to communicate regularly with parents regarding school issues and upcoming events. Regular monthly meetings allow our PA to share information with parents.
3. Parents See Results: Research studies conducted over the past years prove that kids do better when parents are involved.
4. Fundraising: PA fundraisers support school programs, building improvements, and educational resources.
5. Empowered Parents: Parents are involved and understand the challenges Twifo Hemang School faces and therefore these parents want to be a part of the solution. Twifo Hemang School strives to build close relationships with parents through the PA, resulting in high student achievement.
